Semi-Static Multi-Skilled Engineer
Central London | Β£45,000 β Β£50,000 DOE | Monday β Friday
Looking for a mobile-style engineering role without spending your day travelling across London?
We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to look after a small portfolio of commercial buildings in Central London. The sites are based around Gloucester Road, Cromwell Road and Brompton Road and are all within walking distance of each other.
Your Zones 1 & 2 travel will be paid, and you'll work Monday to Friday, 8:00amβ4:30pm, with some flexibility around working hours.
You'll join a small, established team consisting of a Maintenance Manager and 3 Fabric Engineers, becoming the first point of call for M&E issues across the portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a varied building services role where you'll be expected to get stuck in across both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Responding to reactive M&E issues across the buildings
- Initial fault finding and diagnostics before deciding whether specialist support is required
- Carrying out minor mechanical and electrical repairs
- Maintenance and fault finding on AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors and valves
- General HVAC and plant maintenance
- Basic electrical fault finding
- Lighting and general electrical repairs
- Minor plumbing including leaks, taps and blockages
- General plant room checks
- Identifying faults and arranging further works where required
- Escorting subcontractors carrying out reactive works and specialist PPMs
- Working closely with the Maintenance Manager and wider site team
You don't need to be purely electrically or mechanically biased. We're looking for someone with a good all-round M&E / building services background who is comfortable being the first engineer called when something goes wrong.
What We're Looking For
- Previous commercial building maintenance experience
- Multi-skilled M&E background
- Electrical or mechanical bias considered
- Good general fault-finding ability
- Knowledge of AHUs, FCUs and general HVAC plant
- Comfortable carrying out basic electrical and plumbing repairs
- Proactive approach β someone happy to investigate problems rather than immediately passing them on
- Reliable, presentable and comfortable working as part of a small team
What's On Offer?
