Job Overview
PSV Fitter / Mechanic – Full Time (Shift Work)
Location: Huyton Bus Depot, Liverpool
Pay: Competitive rates: £19.50ph – £21.00ph, 40 hours per week. (Overtime paid at 1.5) Weekend call out on a rota basis with a standby allowance of £200.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on PSV vehicles
- Prepare vehicles for MOT
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
- Complete safety inspections in line with DVSA standards
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out
- Support breakdown response and on-site repairs when required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a PSV Fitter or HGV Technician
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have own tools
- Flexibility to work shift patterns (including evenings/weekends as required); currently early shift 05:00-14:00, late shift 15:30-00:30
- Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
