We are seeking a capable, solutions-oriented Service and Commissioning Engineer to support our client-site customer service and Huxley Bertram based machine commissioning for our special-purpose machinery. The role is central to delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet our standards and our clients' requirements.

What You'll Do

Our Service and Commissioning Engineers provide clients and HB project staff with on-site and remote support during installation, setup and commissioning of a wide range of custom machinery. Once the machine is accepted into service, the post-delivery support remains in the scope of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned maintenance and servicing
  • Planned commissioning of new machines
  • Direct engagement in remote diagnostics activities to resolve machine problems
  • Maintain customer requests for assistance within the trouble ticket system and ensure resolutions are captured

Who You Are

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
  • A full UK driving licence, insured for business use, is required.
  • Due to the role requiring international work and associated travel, the candidate must have the appropriate documentation to facilitate this
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer facing and relationship building skills
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise
  • Fully IT literate with packages such as Office 365 and Solidworks/e-Drawings
  • Team player with ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to follow clear instructions as well as the ability to show initiative

Qualifications and Experience

  • Significant previous experience of working on and with Mechanical and Electrical industrial machinery
  • Educated to HND/HNC/C&G in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, time served apprenticeship, or qualified by experience
  • Experience with automation, product handling and special purpose machinery
  • PLC programme fault finding experience would be advantageous
  • Ability to effectively use Omron and Beckhoff PLC software tools to support fault finding and commissioning is highly desirable
  • Competent use of Visual Studio and ability to make minor modifications to HMIs such as layouts and I/O variables linking
  • Ability to configure a range of Drives and Motors advantageous
