We are seeking a capable and detail-focused Electrical Technician to support the electrical build, testing, and installation of special purpose machinery. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality engineering solutions that meet both company standards and client requirements.

The Electrical Technician is responsible for the electrical build, testing, and commissioning of machinery, ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and applicable safety requirements. The role involves close collaboration with electrical, mechanical, controls, and commissioning teams, as well as occasional travel to customer sites for installation and modification activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the electrical build of special purpose machinery in line with project documentation and schematics.
- Install, wire, and test electrical components including control panels, field devices, and machine wiring.
- Support electrical testing, fault finding, and commissioning activities.
- Attend customer sites to support machine installation, commissioning, and modifications where required.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across engineering and operations to support successful project delivery.
- Communicate progress, issues, and technical information clearly to colleagues and line management.
- Contribute positively to a professional, respectful, and inclusive working environment.
Flexibility and Continuous Improvement
- Manage workload effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Who You Are
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Good practical and technical aptitude in an engineering environment.
- Good familiarisation with typical industrial machinery electrical components e.g. switchgear, servo drives & motors, PLC's, sensors etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A methodical and organised approach to work, with good attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic IT literacy and confidence using standard business tools.
- A positive, professional attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering, or completion of a recognised UK electrical apprenticeship.
- Practical experience in electrically biased machinery build, including panel and field wiring.
Desirable:
- Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in electrical installation or electrical maintenance (machinery).
- Experience working on special purpose or bespoke machinery.
- Practical working knowledge of the Machinery Directive.
