Overview

Transport & Yard Manager – Huws Gray Sutton-in-Ashfield. Lead a team of drivers, manage vehicle operations, and maintain a smooth-running transport function at our Sutton-in-Ashfield branch, whilst ensuring great customer service in our Yard. We’re the Huws Gray Group – home to a family of trusted brands including Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI, and Anglia Tool Centre. Across the UK, our branches support local communities with everything they need for building, improving, and creating – we couldn’t do it without our people and that’s where you come in!

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Transport & Yard Manager to lead a team of drivers, manage vehicle operations, and maintain a smooth-running transport function at our Sutton-in-Ashfield branch, whilst ensuring great Customer service in our Yard.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating and overseeing transport operations, ensuring accurate that get to our customers on time
  • Supporting, monitoring and communicating with drivers and the external Yard Team to keep things running efficiently, and a tidy well-kept yard area.
  • Carrying out and recording vehicle safety and maintenance checks in line with company and legal standards
  • Maintaining strong communication with internal teams and external contacts across the supply chain
  • Managing health and safety practices to ensure a safe and tidy working environment
  • Ensuring branch policies and compliance standards are met
