We are looking for a Credit Control Clerk to join us in Glasgow! If you’re in the trade or have ever tackled a home improvement project, you’ve probably heard of us. We’re the Huws Gray Group and we’re made up of several brands, including Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI and Anglia Tool Centre to name a few. Up and down the UK, our branches are serving and supporting our local communities with all their building material needs, but we couldn’t do this without the right people, so why not join us?
We rely on Credit Controllers to manage relationships with our customers to enable us to maintain their accounts and enabling continued trade across the business. Working in one of our branches you’ll be part of a team where everyone is putting the effort in to offer brilliant customer service and to get the job done.
Overview of responsibilities:
- Proactively collect debt from overdue account customers.
- Prioritise workload to target constantly changing key accounts, minimising accounts on stop, thereby enabling continued trade.
- Active daily management of account queries by obtaining details, registering on the system, liaising with customers and colleagues and following up to a satisfactory resolution.
- Analyse and approve or decline account credit limits & terms.
- Maintain a balance between prudence and commercial risk, ensuring debts are kept to a minimum whilst actively encouraging sales.
- Make recommendations to the Supervisor/Manager when seeking approval, collating and evaluating all available financial/customer information.
- Process, reconcile and allocate payments via cheque, cash, credit/debit card, BACS.
- Process new account applications, ensuring accounts are set up quickly and accurately, with customers receiving all necessary documentation.
- Encourage use of website, setting up customers with online account access upon request.
