We are looking for a Credit Control Clerk to join us at Huws Gray Llangefni (Head Office). If you’re in the trade or have ever tackled a home improvement project, you’ve probably heard of us. We’re the Huws Gray Group, comprising brands such as Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI, and Anglia Tool Centre. Our branches across the UK serve and support local communities with building materials, and we need the right people to help us succeed.
Role Overview
As a Credit Controller, you will manage customer relationships to maintain accounts and enable continued trade. Working in one of our branches, you will be part of a team committed to excellent customer service and achieving targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively collect debt from overdue accounts.
- Prioritize workload to target changing key accounts, minimizing accounts on stop to ensure ongoing trade.
- Manage account queries by obtaining details, liaising with customers and colleagues, and following up until resolved.
- Analyze and approve or decline credit limits and terms.
- Balance prudence and risk, minimizing debts while encouraging sales.
- Recommend actions to supervisors or managers based on financial and customer information.
- Process, reconcile, and allocate payments via cheque, cash, card, or BACS.
- Set up new accounts efficiently, providing all necessary documentation.
- Encourage online account access for customers.
