National Transport Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a National Transport Manager to join the team. While we can be flexible on the location of the role, travel support for your teams based in multiple locations around the country will be required.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized National Transport Manager to join our Transport team. The successful candidate will work alongside our Area Transport Managers and support the Group’s branch network on transport & plant-related matters through guidance, training, & monitoring systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day leadership of the Area Transport Managers.
  • Formulating branch compliance procedures and updating policies as required.
  • Creating long-term assessment and auditing plans in line with available resources.
  • Ensuring direct reports are fully trained, compliant, and qualified at all times to carry out their duties.
  • Driving down work-related road risk through Group initiatives, targeting areas of risk, and engaging with colleagues, systems, and suppliers to refresh league tables and data.
  • Participating in the digitisation of the Transport team.
  • Monitoring vehicle utilisation KPIs and identifying areas for improvement and transformation.

What you will need:

  • National CPC holder (Required).
  • Full driving licence (Vocational preferable).
  • Strong knowledge of fleet compliance and current & future legislation.
  • Driver Assessor (or equivalent) qualification (Preferable).
  • Knowledge of work-related road risk and risk reduction techniques.
  • Extensive experience with fleet management systems.
  • Proficiency in investigative methods for root cause analysis.
