As an Access Control Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installations of access control, security, and network technologies across customer sites. You'll represent Hutchison Technologies with professionalism, technical expertise, and a strong customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Installation
- Install access control systems including turnstiles, car park barriers, maglocks, and door entry solutions
- Install structured cabling and network infrastructure to support access control systems
- Commission and test installed systems to ensure full functionality
- Work to consistently high technical standards on every site
- Support the service team with fault-finding and remedial works when required
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Administration & Reporting
- Complete job forms, timesheets, mileage and expenses claims
- Record stock usage and manage equipment/material returns
- Professional Conduct
- Maintain a professional, respectful presence on customer sites
- Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
- Customer Focus
- Deliver excellent customer service throughout each installation
- Take ownership of installation quality and customer satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure clarity and confidence
- Identify potential improvements or innovative solutions and escalate to your line manager

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in an access control or security systems installation role
- High level of technical competence in access control technologies
Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- ECS/CSCS card
- IPAF
- PASMA
- UKATA certification
- SSSTS
- Electrical qualification or a qualification in security/access control systems
- Experience with specific access control platforms (e.g. Paxton, HID, Lenel, or similar)
