Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum depending on skills and experience

Job Type: Full time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

About Us: Hutchison Ports operates the Port of Felixstowe, the UK's largest deep water container port and a major gateway for global trade. We have been serving the shipping and logistics industry for decades, handling container traffic from across the world and supporting customers in multiple sectors through our state-of-the-art facilities and customer-focused services.

The Role: The Graduate Commercial Manager will join our Commercial team to develop knowledge of our customer profile and shipping line accounts. You will support customer relationships and provide direct assistance to shipping line accounts and projects. This is a fast-paced, customer service-centric environment offering excellent opportunities to progress your career while working collaboratively across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Commercial team on nominated shipping line accounts, providing day-to-day support and dealing with customers directly on selected issues
  • Identify, evaluate and report on potential new business opportunities from external contacts and media sources
  • Build market awareness of the Port's advantages, facilities and added value services, plus develop knowledge of competitor UK terminal operators
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports with statistical and analytical data accuracy delivered in a timely manner
  • Establish relationships and build rapport with customers through regular dialogue with internal and external stakeholders to enable continuous improvement

You:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree
  • Have previous experience in a customer-facing environment, handling customer issues sensitively and effectively
  • Work efficiently with data and statistics, managing pressure and meeting deadlines while using analysis to prioritise work
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Manage changing circumstances with initiative, solving problems reactively and communicating effectively in verbal and written forms
