We are seeking a Development Manager to lead a forward thinking team, exploring innovative and proven practices and technologies which enable Hutchinsons to deliver exceptional agronomic advice. Ranging across agronomic inputs, technology, crop production techniques, genetics and broader agronomy concepts, the Development team support our Advisors to provide industry leading advice to their customers.

About the Role

As Development Manager, you will lead on projects that underpin our technical strategies, ensuring our Advisors have the confidence and evidence they need in their roles. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that we continue to innovate, robustly trial new products and technologies and communicate findings effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage: Inspire and guide the Development team to deliver high-quality trials and outputs on time and to the highest standards. Oversee the team in the planning, monitoring, and reporting of trials on agronomic inputs, crop protection, nutrition, biostimulants, and technology innovations.
  • Building and Managing Relationships: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the team priorities and business objectives are aligned. Maintain and develop partnerships with external stakeholders to ensure Hutchinsons remain at the forefront of access to new chemistry, technology and other innovations.
  • Collaboration: Work with technical, commercial, and services teams, as well as external partners; input suppliers, supply chain, technology opportunities and breeders.
  • Innovation Projects: Drive engagement with Regional Trials Centres, Helix farms, and Novafield initiatives to evaluate new technologies and opportunities.
  • Financial Management: Report to the Board on costs and ensure that budgets are utilised effectively.
