Over 200 agronomists are dedicated to supporting farmer clients in producing high‑quality, profitable crops responsibly and sustainably.
Our Carlisle depot is looking to recruit a Deputy Depot Supervisor (Assistant Manager) to support the day‑to‑day operations of the site, ensuring the efficient storage and distribution of products and the delivery of excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a hands‑on role in daily depot operations, including assisting in picking orders, preparing stock, and loading/unloading delivery vehicles when required.
- Support and supervise the team, stepping up in the Manager’s absence.
- Use company IT systems for stock control, order processing, transport planning, and reporting.
- Manage goods in/out and maintain accurate stock records through digital systems.
- Deliver excellent customer service both face‑to‑face and via phone/email, assisting customers with orders and enquiries.
- Monitor costs, performance, and operational efficiency using system data.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, including BASIS and ADR regulations.
- Act as a keyholder for the depot.
Skills & Experience
- Supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience with warehouse/stock systems.
- Confident IT user, able to manage multiple systems and data accurately.
- Practical, team‑focused approach with the ability to lead from the front.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
What We Offer
- Monday–Friday 08:00–17:00 (with 07:00 starts in Spring and Autumn).
- Some Saturday mornings (mid-March to mid-June).
- Family‑run national business with annual salary review.
Requirements
- Full UK Driver’s Licence.
