Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accountant to manage our financial records, ensure compliance, and provide insightful financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the company, supporting decision‑making, and contributing to strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and ledgers in accordance with UK accounting standards and company policies.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist in managing banking relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant within the accountancy sector or similar industries.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
