Job Description

Our client is a leading international energy service provider, with a diverse client portfolio including many of the world’s leading energy companies.

The Opportunity

\\n\\n

This is a key role within the tax department and will require the successful candidate to provide support to the Aberdeen based Tax Director. You will manage both internal and external group tax reporting, compliance & advisory and interact across both the tax and wider finance team, building strong relationships and being available as a "go to" person for tax related issues.

\\n\\n

Tax compliance is a major focus of the group, and the company faces extremely complex tax issues as part of a large international group in the oil and gas industry.

You will be involved in ad hoc tax advisory projects, and provide general support to the tax team through a busy period.

Background and experience

\\n\\n

    \\n\\t
  • Professional qualification in accounting or tax, ICAS/ACCA/CTA/ATT
  • \\n\\t

  • Excellent general UK and International tax knowledge
  • \\n\\t

  • Tax software experience, Alphatax or similar
  • \\n\\t

  • Reporting writing and analytical skills
  • \\n\\t

  • Ability to work effectively with all areas of the business and to communicate with colleagues, and build effective relationships
  • \\n\\t

  • Ability to critically analyse current work methods and suggest and rapidly implement successful change
  • \\n\\t

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • \\n\\t

  • Tax experience within the profession or industry, relevant work experience in oil and gas services preferred
  • \\n\\t

  • Good working knowledge and experience of application of IFRS
  • \\n\\t

  • Ability to conduct research into basic advisory queries
  • \\n
