Hutcheon Mearns is working with a global oil service company to hire a Financial Accountant on a full-time, staff basis to join their team in Westhill.
The Opportunity
Situated within an established and sociable team, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and management accounts when required
- Providing explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements
- Demonstrating a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation, and group accounting policies
- Supporting the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required
- Ensuring compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, addressing financial controls within deadlines
- Preparing reconciliations and analyses with relevant backups and critical analysis of balances in significant entities
- Assisting with the review of Associate Accountants’ work
- Identifying areas for process improvements and proposing solutions to establish best practices and standardization
- Resolving financial reporting queries
Background and Experience
- A qualified or nearly qualified accountant with audit and accounts preparation experience
- Experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls, and the audit process
- Self-motivated with a logical approach to problem solving
- A proven track record of quality analysis and review
- Experience within large multinational companies or teams is advantageous
