Hutcheon Mearns is working with a global oil service company to hire a Financial Accountant on a full-time, staff basis to join their team in Westhill.

The Opportunity

Situated within an established and sociable team, you will be responsible for:

  1. Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and management accounts when required
  2. Providing explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements
  3. Demonstrating a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation, and group accounting policies
  4. Supporting the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required
  5. Ensuring compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, addressing financial controls within deadlines
  6. Preparing reconciliations and analyses with relevant backups and critical analysis of balances in significant entities
  7. Assisting with the review of Associate Accountants’ work
  8. Identifying areas for process improvements and proposing solutions to establish best practices and standardization
  9. Resolving financial reporting queries

Background and Experience

  • A qualified or nearly qualified accountant with audit and accounts preparation experience
  • Experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls, and the audit process
  • Self-motivated with a logical approach to problem solving
  • A proven track record of quality analysis and review
  • Experience within large multinational companies or teams is advantageous
