Overview
Hutcheon Mearns are recruiting on behalf of their established Engineering client based in Perth for a permanent Accountant to join their busy team. This position offers a varied role covering financial and management accounting and would suit individuals from both Practice or industry. Salary is £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience + bonus, excellent pension & annual leave entitlement, hybrid working and a half day on a Friday.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will complete accounting responsibilities covering statutory accounting, management accounting and general ledger. You will provide technical expertise, ensure compliance with IFRS & UK legislation and support senior management in all financial matters.
- Preparation of annual statutory accounts under IFRS
- Liaison with external audit team and act as main point of contact for audit queries
- Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts including prepayments & accruals, journal preparation & postings
- Completion of quarterly VAT return
- Balance sheet reconciliations including identification of risk and corrective action
The candidate
You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant, however part qualified and qualified by experience individuals will also be considered. You will have strong financial accounting experience including statutory accounts production. You will be a proactive individual who possesses strong problem solving skills and good communication skills. You will possess a willingness to learn in-house finance systems and have good working knowledge in Excel.
- Salary of £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience + bonus
- 7% Employer pension contribution
- 34 days annual leave
- Hybrid working (1 day a week from home)
- Half day on a Friday
