Hutcheon Mearns are working with our client in the marine technology sector to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a full time, permanent basis. The role will be based in Westhill with hybrid working on offer.
The Opportunity
The Accounts Assistant will have a focus on accounts payable and form a key part of a small finance team. Duties will include:
- Logging, authorising and processing supplier invoices
- Payment of supplier and intercompany invoices, in monthly payment runs and ad-hoc payments
- Review of supplier statements
- Housekeeping of relevant suppliers on ledger
- Month end close routine for Accounts Payable ledger
- Processing monthly direct debits and standing orders
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Month end close routine for cash management
- Maintenance and review of capital expenditure requisitions
- Update fixed asset register with additions and disposals on monthly basis
- Process journals for gain/loss on asset disposals
- Monthly depreciation calculations
Background and experience
You will be an Accounts Assistant with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise your workload and work well alone as well as part of a team.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics would be desirable.
