Job Description

Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged exclusively to source an Accountant on a full time basis. This role is offered on an initial 12 month contract, with the potential to go permanent. Our client is a successful, PE backed business providing a range of services across renewables, oil and gas and ocean services. This role is based in Kingswells on a hybrid basis (three days in the office). Our client offers flexible working, career development and a competitive day rate.

Working closely with the Senior Accountant, this role will ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial records, complete the month end and year close processes, assist internal and external stakeholders and ensure all tasks are completed to agreed timescales. Candidates must be available to start at short notice.

The Opportunity

  • Supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal preparation and general ledger analysis
  • \\n\\t

  • Undertake all Balance Sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • \\n\\t

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements and related audit queries
  • \\n\\t

  • Respond to queries from external and internal stakeholders
  • \\n\\t

  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • \\n\\t

  • Communicating with relevant suppliers to resolve invoicing or payment queries
  • \\n\\t

  • Preparation of Financial Data for the management team as requested
  • \\n\\t

  • Support process improvements within the department
  • \\n

Background and Experience

  • Qualified accountant or a high level of prior experience in a similar role
  • \\n\\t

  • Prior experience in an accounting role
  • \\n\\t

  • Experience working within a Global Group preferable
  • \\n\\t

  • Proficiency in MS Office, with strength in Excel
  • \\n
