Hutcheon Mearns are working with a successful, profitable software business which is part of an international group, to source a Finance Manager with an operational and strategic focus. Based in Aberdeen, this business has a diverse range of clients and is a fast-paced, dynamic business with significant growth potential. The Opportunity

  • Accounting Leadership & Compliance
    • Lead and manage the Finance and Business Support Team based in Aberdeen
    • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial administration processes
    • Oversee the preparation and development of periodic financial and management reports, ensuring they meet organisational standards
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors during statutory and group audits
    • Ensure compliance with local and global tax regulations and financial reporting standards
    • Oversee financial compliance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations
    • Lead Treasury and cash management including preparing cash forecasts and ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations
    • Continuously optimise, driving improvements that enhance efficiency and control
  • Controlling & Strategic Financial Planning
    • Drive the development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with business objectives
    • Provide proactive, strategic financial advice to the Leadership Team, acting as a trusted business partner in decision-making processes
    • Monitor and manage business risks, ensuring that risk management strategies are effectively implemented
    • Control and monitor forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and take corrective action when necessary
    • Transform data into actionable insights that support informed business decisions
  • People Management & Development
    • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, ensuring the team remains agile, motivated, and aligned with business goals

Background and Experience

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious financial leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have:

  • An accounting qualification such as CA, ACA, CIMA, or ACCA
  • Significant relevant experience; experience as a Finance Business Partner in a fast-growing organisation is a plus
  • Experience in multi-currency and multi-entity financial operations
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or OneStream (advantageous)
  • Strong decision-making abilities, with the confidence to take ownership and drive results
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise at all levels of the organisation
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a high degree of learning agility
  • A hands-on mentality, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution
