Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment have been engaged by our oil and gas client to source a Joint Venture Accountant on a full time, staff basis. This role will be based in Aberdeen City Centre on a hybrid basis (three days office/two days home) with flexible working.

The main purpose of the role is accountability for the various aspects of JV accounting and cost control processes. The role will involve close interaction with the Operations team and the Operating Partners.

  • Previous JV accounting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

The Opportunity:

  • Preparing the JV budgets and reforecasts
  • Provide information to Finance Manager and assist with the internal annual budget and quarterly reforecast processes
  • Prepare monthly JV billings and partner reports
  • Act as focal point for JV partners and Operating partners
  • Apply, develop and maintain appropriate financial control processes and procedures
  • Provide information to Finance Manager and assist in the preparation of the monthly management reporting pack
  • Provide ad hoc financial information or analysis
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for selected GL within set group legal entities
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and HMRC
  • Assist in the annual statutory accounting process

Background and Experience:

  • CA / ACA / ACCA qualification or relevant experience
  • JV accounting experience
  • Exposure to Oil & Gas Industry
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently unsupervised
  • Attentive to detail and comfortable working across all finance processes
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to set deadlines
  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Strong team working skills
