Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment are working with a well‑established organisation based in Aberdeen to recruit an Assistant Accountant to their finance team. The Opportunity
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing fee billing, collections, and credit control. Alongside this, you’ll support broader finance processes, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and issuance of accurate invoices
- Managing direct debit processes and ensuring compliance
- Reconciling accounts, including adjustments and discounts
- Maintaining clear audit trails for all financial transactions
- Proactively managing collections to ensure timely payments
- Handling queries and resolving discrepancies
- Monitoring aged debt and escalating where required
- Producing regular aged debt reporting and analysis
- Supporting cash flow forecasting
- Assisting with month end, reconciliations and audit preparation
- Maintaining accurate records across accounts receivable
Background and Experience
- Experience within a finance role, ideally including credit control or accounts receivable
- Strong attention to detail and good systems skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships
- Studying towards, or keen to start, a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CA
