Join to apply for the Workshop Operative – Stone role at Husqvarna Group.
Working in the Leeds Stone Division Workshop, you will strip, clean, re-tip and tension a range of Diamond Blades, including Circular and Gang Saw and Grinding/Polishing products, and undertake related engineering tasks such as rebores.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and re-tip diamond tooling using both hand and machine brazing techniques, welding, and other engineering tools and equipment.
- Operate workshop machinery safely and correctly, including brazing, grinding, and tensioning machines.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all work meets high standards.
- Respond promptly to internal and external customer requirements within agreed timescales.
- Support stores operations when needed.
- Perform engineering tasks such as reboring, milling, blade tensioning, and countersinking (training provided).
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members, sharing workload and maintaining a flexible, team-oriented approach.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support overall business goals.
- Work with both manual processes and automated equipment, including brazing by hand and operating automatic brazing, grinding, and tensioning machines.
- Occasional travel to customer sites to assist with on-site re-tipping and repairs, with full training provided as needed.
- Experience in workshop operations is advantageous.
