Your Role at Husqvarna UK
As HSE Lead, you will act as the primary operational authority for Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management across the UK business. You will provide expert leadership, governance, and direction across multiple UK locations (Aycliffe, Leeds, Doncaster, East London) and for field-based and remote teams. The role is responsible for driving legal compliance, continuous improvement, and safety culture maturity, translating Group HSE strategy into effective local execution, and coaching and influencing leaders at all levels to deliver sustainable HSE performance.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Experience supporting or leading HSE audits, ensuring compliance, effective root cause analysis, and timely closure of actions.
- Chair monthly HSE Committee meetings and drive accountability and performance improvement.
- Monitor occupational hygiene standards (noise, dust, air quality) and workplace conditions.
- Promote proactive hazard identification through Risk Observations and safety campaigns.
- Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive action planning.
- Develop, deliver, and communicate HSE and EHS training across the business.
- Implement strategic HSE improvement plans aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Manage HSE systems, compliance tracking, and documentation (e.g. Q-Pulse, Safety Hub).
- Oversee environmental compliance, waste management, and sustainability reporting.
- Support energy management, environmental projects, and initiatives aligned to the UN SDGs.
- Analyse HSE data and report performance to senior leadership and stakeholders.
What We’re Looking for
- NEBOSH Certificate (essential)
- ISO 14001 Internal Auditor (desirable)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
- Experience supporting or leading HSE initiatives within a multi-site or complex organisation.
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading audits, investigations, and continuous improvement programmes.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods transport, environmental compliance, and waste management.
- Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, resilient, and improvement-focused approach.
- Experience using HSE management systems and audit platforms.
