The Software Validation Specialist plays a key role in our Innovation and Sustainability Team, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure industrial machinery control software—and particularly for injection molding machines—meets both technical standards and end-user needs. Leveraging broad expertise across mechanical, electrical, software, and fluid power systems, this role ensures seamless system integration and defect-free performance that supports customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define validation criteria, execute test plans, and assess software compliance.
  • Identify and address gaps in validation processes to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Standardize testing procedures to reduce defects and testing time.
  • Collaborate on design reviews and risk assessments to shape test strategies.
  • Set up and execute tests, troubleshoot issues, and analyze results.
  • Log software issues accurately and maintain complete validation records.
  • Report findings through clear documentation and presentations.
  • Ensure software meets Husky quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Support resolution of major service issues and contribute to software architecture.
  • Incorporate real-world feedback to continuously refine product performance.

Qualifications Required:

  • 8-10 years of experience testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.
  • BS or MS in Electrical, Software, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with data acquisition.
  • In-depth understanding of injection molding machines and related technologies.
  • 6+ years of PLC programming using IEC 61131-3 languages.
  • Experience with software testing methodologies for industrial/mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, TCP/IP).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead validation planning and testing within cross-functional teams.

Desired / Good to have:

  • Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, and experience with .NET components.
  • Expertise in industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, EtherCAT).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and Azure DevOps tools.
  • Understanding of ISO standards for software development and validation.
  • Knowledge of injection molding processes, plastic materials, and auxiliary equipment.
