The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing strong client relationships, driving sales growth and increasing brand awareness across the UK market. The role focuses on conducting market research, networking and prospecting to identify potential business opportunities, promoting the company’s product portfolio within commercial interior projects, supporting dealer partners in winning and delivering projects, and positioning the brand as a preferred workplace solutions provider within the A&D and commercial interiors community. As a Business Development Manager you will work closely with internal sales, marketing, and product teams to maximize business opportunities, achieve sales targets, and support the long-term growth strategy of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities and project leads through research, networking and prospecting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects and interior designers, workplace consultants, real estate advisory firms, contractors, and dealer partners.
- Develop and grow brand awareness within the UK commercial interiors market.
- Deliver engaging product presentations, CPDs, showroom visits, and client meetings.
- Drive specification sales activity and support products being specified into commercial workplace projects.
- Maintain and manage an active sales pipeline and provide regular forecasting updates.
- Ensure all activities are aligned with company pricing policies, margin expectations, and strategic objectives.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, networking activities, and client events.
- Provide market feedback and customer insights to support marketing strategies and product development initiatives.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and KPIs for the territory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, specification sales, or account management within the furniture, workplace, interiors, or commercial fit-out industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing strategic accounts.
- Strong understanding of the UK commercial furniture and workplace market.
- Strong network within the A&D (Architecture & Design) community is highly desirable.
- Experience working with dealer networks and commercial project pipelines.
- Commercially driven with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and projects.
- Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
