Hush is a female-founded and female-led fashion brand with big growth plans to double the business over the next few years. Founded over 20 years ago, we’re now stepping onto the high street - opening our first standalone store in Guildford this September. This is a big moment for us. And a rare opportunity to be part of it from the very beginning. We create a beautiful range of women’s clothing and accessories, defined by effortless style, thoughtful design and a relaxed way of living. Our culture reflects that - collaborative, entrepreneurial and grounded in doing things well.

About the role

We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support in building our Guildford store from the ground up. This is more than a typical deputy role. You’ll be part of shaping how the store feels, how the team works together, and how customers experience Hush in real life. You’ll be accountable for making sure the operations of our first store are absolutely humming! Working closely with the Store Manager, you’ll lead from the front, creating a space that feels warm, relaxed and welcoming, while supporting strong commercial performance. You’ll play a key role in setting the tone: supporting the team, driving standards, and making sure every detail feels considered. Our store is at its best when the whole team is around, so you’ll be contracted to 40 hours per week - including weekends.

What you’ll do

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the store; staff rota’s, deliveries, third-party relationships
  • Support the Store Manager in driving store performance and achieving sales targets
  • Lead by example to deliver an effortless, welcoming customer experience
  • Support in recruiting, developing and motivating the team
  • Take ownership of key areas including floor standards, stock and team development
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with the Hush aesthetic

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years’ experience in a retail management or supervisory role
  • A natural ability to connect with people and create a positive team environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of store performance
  • A genuine enthusiasm for Hush and what we stand for
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with great attention to detail
  • Energy, positivity and a collaborative mindset

Why you’ll love it here

  • A supportive, creative and collaborative culture
  • The chance to be part of something new from day one
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Ongoing development opportunities
  • Staff discount and additional perks

Our commitment

At Hush, we embrace diversity as a strength that drives creativity and innovation. We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. This is just the beginning. If you’d like to shape what Hush looks like on the high street - we’d love to hear from you. No agencies please.
