ROLE PURPOSE
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven E-Commerce Product Owner to join our team and take ownership of our e-commerce platform and integrations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving the re-platform project and ongoing optimisation. They will support the Chief Marketing Officer in defining the product strategy and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a best-in-class platform experience. As the Product Owner, you will be the bridge between internal stakeholders, development teams, and customers, ensuring that the platform delivers value, scalability, and an exceptional user experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Vision & Strategy
- Support the definition and communication of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the platform.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to identify new opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Align platform objectives with the overall company strategy and goals.
Backlog Management
- Create, prioritise, and manage the product backlog based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
- Write clear and detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements for the development team.
- Continuously refine and adjust the backlog to meet changing priorities and market conditions.
Collaboration with Stakeholders
- Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and the development team on e-commerce optimisation and integrations.
- Facilitate workshops, sprint planning, and review meetings to ensure alignment and gather input.
- Work closely with relevant departments to build robust view needs or impacts and incorporate them into the product roadmap.
Product Development & Delivery
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the platform’s success and user satisfaction.
- Make data-driven decisions to optimise the product, enhance features, and solve user pain points.
- Facilitate handover of any development that requires internal maintenance to end users, ensuring clear documentation is captured to futureproof usage and troubleshooting.
User Experience & Feedback
- Monitor user engagement and gather feedback to improve the overall user experience.
- Conduct user testing to validate features and gather insights.
- Ensure the platform meets customer needs and continuously delivers value.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a DTC e-commerce environment.
- Experience with SaaS platforms, or enterprise-level solutions.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience working in Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and work closely with development teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey product concepts and requirements to stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric and end-user approach.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functionally to drive product development from concept to launch.
- Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, Asana, Confluence, or similar.
