  • Accounts Assistant to join our

Finance team and play a key role in keeping the business running smoothly behind the scenes.

Supporting everything from supplier payments and sales reconciliations to cashflow reporting and month-end activities, you'll help ensure our financial information is accurate, controlled and delivered on time.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to our Lead Financial Accountant, you'll support a variety of finance processes across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, banking and month-end activities, helping to maintain accurate records and strong financial controls across the business.

You'll

  • Manage the stock and non-stock Accounts Payable ledgers, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
  • Complete three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices and goods received notes, investigating discrepancies where required.
  • Process supplier payments in line with agreed payment terms and approval processes.
  • Perform monthly supplier reconciliations and resolve outstanding queries promptly.
  • Process employee expenses and company credit card transactions, ensuring accurate coding and VAT treatment.
  • Manage the finance inbox, responding to supplier and internal queries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the Accounts Receivable ledger, ensuring sales are recorded accurately and completely.
  • Complete weekly reconciliations between accounting records and third-party partner statements.
  • Monitor outstanding debt and support the timely collection of overdue balances.
  • Update weekly cashflow actuals to support forecasting and reporting.
  • Perform multi-currency bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Support month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and management accounts commentary.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for designated areas of the business.
  • Support ERP implementation projects, process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Assist with audit requests and prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

About you

  • A minimum of one year's experience within a finance or accounts role.
  • Experience working within a retail, fashion or e-commerce business would be advantageous.
  • Experience using finance systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups, SUMIF/SUMIFS and Pivot Tables.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, positive approach with a willingness to learn.
  • Confident communicating with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across the business.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
