We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join our finance team on a 3-month contract within a fast-paced retail and e-commerce environment. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end support. You'll work closely with the wider finance team to help ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth operational processes during a busy trading period.
The Role
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time
- Supporting supplier statement reconciliations and resolving invoice queries
- Assisting with sales reconciliations and revenue reporting
- Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Supporting month-end close activities, including:
- Accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- General ledger maintenance
- Assisting with cash reporting and ad hoc finance analysis
- Supporting VAT and other finance administration tasks where required
- Helping maintain accurate financial records and strong financial controls
- Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks and process improvements
About You
- Previous experience in a finance assistant, accounts assistant, or assistant accountant role
- Comfortable working across AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and transactional finance
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using Excel and finance systems (experience with Microsoft Business Central is advantageous)
- A proactive team player with a positive, hands-on attitude
- Retail or e-commerce experience is beneficial but not essential
