This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but growing Managed Service Provider, working predominantly in the Education sector, providing cutting‑edge solutions to our clients. As a Support Consultant, you will serve as the first point of contact for technical issues, offering remote and onsite technical support for hardware, software, network, and cloud services. You will work as part of a team of IT professionals, ensuring prompt resolution and appropriate escalation when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide first and second‑line remote and onsite support to all clients, diagnosing and resolving IT issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, network, security, and cloud solutions.
- Monitor and optimise the performance and availability of client systems.
- Perform backups, updates, and upgrades on client systems.
- Use helpdesk software and other tools to manage incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Follow internal and client IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Document solutions to common problems and help develop the internal and client‑facing knowledgebase.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Stay updated on the latest IT trends, technologies, and standards.
- Assist in the delivery of projects where required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least two years of experience in IT support.
- Experience working in education IT support is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 cloud and desktop applications.
- Experience with hardware, software, network, security, and cloud troubleshooting and administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra and Intune is desirable.
- Certifications in ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, or other relevant areas are advantageous.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence to allow travel to client sites.
This role will include a mix of working from our offices and from client sites to meet customer requirements. Due to our work in the education sector, this role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check before employment. Additional safeguarding training will be provided to ensure compliance and understanding of the latest version of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
