Position Overview: SEN Administrator – Term time + 10 days | Monday‑Thursday 08:30–16:30; Friday 08:30–13:30. Salary £20‑22k (actual salary) / £26‑28.5k FTE. This is not a standard school admin role. We need a highly organised, process‑driven SEN Administrator to support the SENCo team and ensure the smooth running of statutory SEN processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, confidential administrative support to SENCo’s and the wider team.
  • Manage complex case‑work, coordinate annual reviews and meet statutory deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate record‑keeping, minute‑taking and use of school management information systems (SIMS, StudyBugs, TES Provision Map).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, data protection, confidentiality and safeguarding protocols.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Education: GCSE or equivalent, including at least a Grade 4 in English and Maths.
  • Proven administrative experience, ideally within an educational or SEN environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Experience of detailed and accurate minute‑taking.
  • Desirable: Experience using school management information systems (SIMS, StudyBugs, TES Provision Map).
  • Desirable: Completion of a SEND/ALN Administrator course or similar.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, parents and external professionals.
  • Good understanding of SEN processes, terminology and documentation.
  • Awareness of confidentiality, data protection and compliance requirements within SEN work.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection protocols, and ability to apply them in an educational setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities calmly and efficiently, especially when working to tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret information and situations in order to solve problems.
  • Highly organised, proactive, able to work independently and unsupervised as well as part of a team.
