We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team at Hurst Park Primary Academy. This is a fixed term, part-time position from January 2026 to July 2026, specifically working 15 hours per week in our Nursery setting.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support to a specific child with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive within the school environment. You will be assisting in the delivery of the provision, care and supervision of pupils.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing support to the child with their welfare, including dressing and toileting where necessary.
  • Carrying out the child's health care plan (education, social, behaviour and personal).
  • Promoting independence in a safe, secure, challenging environment.
  • Working within the school behaviour policy to manage behaviour constructively.
  • Supporting the pupil's development and rewarding achievement.
  • Working with small groups of pupils and leading intervention groups.
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of all class activities.
What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who meets the following desirable criteria:

  • Experience of supporting young children in the Foundation Stage (Nursery).
  • Experience of supporting the teacher with a variety of activities in the class.
  • Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice.
  • Familiarity with and ability to put into practice safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a variety of adults and children.
  • Has a concern and understanding for children, and the ability to establish good relationships.
  • It is desirable that applicants hold a Level 3 diploma or equivalent in a relevant qualification.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK from the location provided and not from overseas. For this role the Trust would / would not consider sponsoring a Certificate of Sponsorship/visa. Feedback will only be provided upon request if you attend an interview.
