The Fostering Service at Dudley MBC is expanding and we need qualified social workers to support and supervise carers, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in our care.
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Supervision and Support team. Key responsibilities include:
- Matching and supporting new mainstream foster carers, and undertaking initial viability assessments on a rota basis.
- Collaborating with kinship and assessment teams to share caseloads and provide joint support.
- Participating in monthly support groups and training sessions for foster carers.
- Providing regular supervision, guidance and professional development to staff.
- The role offers opportunities to lead training initiatives and work closely with the foster carer association to improve the foster journey.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified social worker with a minimum of 12 months post‑qualification experience in statutory social care.
- Experience in matching and supporting new foster carers is desirable.
- Completed ASYE and a minimum of 12 months post‑qualification time.
