Wollescote Primary School is a welcoming and nurturing primary school seeking a highly organized, friendly and efficient Administrative Assistant to join our busy school office. This is a vital role at the heart of our school community. You will be the first point of contact for parents, carers, pupils and visitors, helping to create a positive and supportive environment for our children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school office
- Act as the first point of contact for parents, carers, pupils and visitors
- Answer telephone and email enquiries in a professional and friendly manner
- Maintain accurate pupil records using school systems (e.g. MIS)
- Support attendance monitoring and follow‑up procedures
- Assist with newsletters, letters home and school communications
- Manage incoming and outgoing post
- Support the organisation of school events, trips and activities
- Work closely with staff and leadership to support school operations
- Warm, approachable and enjoys working in a child‑centred environment
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Communicates clearly and professionally with adults and children alike
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office; experience with school systems desirable)
- Can work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
- Previous administrative experience (school experience an advantage but not essential)
