The predicted salary is between 27466 - 30535 £ per year.

£27,466.58 to £30,535.14 actual salary per annum, plus £2,042.00 SEN Allowance (subject to pro rata). Term time only, (39) Weeks (no. of working weeks). First year Salary will reflect number of working days remaining in holiday year. Working Hours: 37 Location: Pens Meadow School.

We have now moved to our new building, and we are expanding into new classes and a new nursery. With an increased capacity for 30 additional pupils, the Governors of Pens Meadow School are seeking to appoint suitably qualified, inspirational, dynamic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our highly successful and dedicated school team. Pens Meadow provides quality education for pupils aged 4 to 19 with complex learning needs including medical conditions and autism. Our staff team are committed to improvement, and we believe in high standards, teamwork and seeking the very best for every child in our care. The school was very pleased with the outcome of our most recent OfSTED inspection in May 2025.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or line management responsibility for other classroom support staff. The exact focus of the role will be dependent on the skills set of applicants and will take into account the needs of the school and the developmental needs of the successful candidate.

Qualifications

Higher Level Teaching Assistants with HLTA status or an equivalent qualification, who are able to think creatively and build good relationships with staff and students alike. Higher Level Teaching Assistants who are excited to support different pupils’ needs and are inspired by children and young people’s curiosity. Higher Level Teaching Assistants who recognise and celebrate the small steps that pupils with SEND make and strive to provide exciting opportunities in line with our school values.
