Job Introduction

Jesson's CE Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school.

Candidate Profile

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or higher
  • Good standard of education including English & maths (GCSE/Level 2)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working within a classroom setting and with primary aged pupils
  • Ability to work on their own initiative, and also work well as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and undertake work in line with the Higher Level Teaching Assistants Standards
  • Contribute to planning, preparing and delivery of learning activities and support programmes to individuals or groups of pupils
  • Deliver and plan lessons for groups of pupils/whole classes
  • Support the class teacher(s) within school
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop
  • Assist pupils with developing academically, socially, and personally
  • Use behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the school
