This is an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic who is wanting to work as part of a small, dedicated team providing maintenance and repairs to a diverse range of vehicles, plant and equipment in accordance with the requirements of the Councils Operator Licence.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate the right behaviours and values to work as part of a team, be customer focused and committed to providing a quality service.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service and repair vehicles, plant and equipment using appropriate tools, equipment and facilities in a safe and proper manner
  • Conduct fault diagnostic checks on vehicles, plant and equipment
  • Prepare and take vehicles for MOT testing
  • Participate in a vehicle breakdown service
  • Participate in winter maintenance operations
Qualifications
  • City and Guilds Qualification in the repair and maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles or equivalent NVQ at Level 3
  • LGV Category C Licence (or willing to be trained and pass within 6 months of employment)
Requirements
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Will not require sponsorship (Dudley MBC does not currently offer sponsorship for candidates without the Right to Work in the UK)
