We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced administrator to join the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service as a part-time Senior Business Support Officer. This is a key role within Children’s Services, supporting statutory safeguarding processes to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

The post will primarily be responsible for the accurate and detailed minute taking of Child Protection Conferences, Child in Care Reviews and Position of Trust meetings. You will be required to attend meetings and produce comprehensive, high‑quality minutes that accurately reflect complex discussions and decisions, involving sensitive and confidential information. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will manage your workload effectively and ensure that all documentation is produced within required timescales. This role offers an agile working style, with a mixture of home and office‑based working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend safeguarding meetings and produce clear, accurate minutes and records
  • Ensure timely completion of documentation in line with statutory requirements
  • Handle highly sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Support the coordination and administration of meetings and related processes
  • Maintain and update information across key systems
  • Liaise with colleagues, partners, and agencies to support service delivery
Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has proven experience in minute taking, particularly in complex or formal settings, has strong administrative experience, can work with accuracy and attention to detail under pressure, is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities, demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is confident using a range of IT systems and producing written documentation to a high standard. A relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent) is desirable, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Workplace Attendance

Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro‑rata) or onsite full time. All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK. Dudley MBC does not currently offer sponsorship for candidates without the Right to Work in the UK.
