Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Council’s property portfolio, including acquisitions, disposals, and new build delivery.
  • Lead large‑scale capital programmes and multidisciplinary professional teams across construction and property services.
  • Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act, Regulator of Social Housing standards, and all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive high‑quality maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and facilities management services.
  • Lead governance, risk management, and performance frameworks, using data and insight to drive continuous improvement.
  • Embed modern, sustainable, and digitally enabled approaches to service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively across the organisation and with partners to deliver Council‑wide priorities and transformation outcomes.

About You

We are looking for a strategic, politically astute leader with:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • A track record of delivering large‑scale transformation and capital programmes.
  • Strong experience in property, construction, compliance, or related disciplines and a commercially minded ‘open‑for‑business' approach.
  • A commitment to high standards of governance, transparency, and public accountability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, partnership working, and communication skills.

You will bring visible, values‑driven leadership and the ability to inspire high‑performing teams, delivering meaningful improvements for residents and communities.
