Contract Change & Readiness Manager (Mortgage Origination Platform)
Rate: £500 – £550 per day (Outside IR35). Hybrid: Some travel to south Cambridge will be required (approx one day every two weeks).
Hurren & Hope is partnering with a well-established financial services provider as they undertake a critical technology transformation. We are looking for an autonomous Change & Readiness Manager to spearhead the business transition as they introduce a brand-new mortgage origination platform.
To hit the ground running, you will need a strong background in lending and deep familiarity with the mortgage lifecycle—from broker engagement through to underwriting and processing. This isn’t a simple, overnight migration. You will be steering the business through a complex "dual-run" phase where the legacy and new systems operate side-by-side.
Your core objective is to ensure that operational risks are tightly managed, interim processes are bulletproof, and the internal teams feel confident, trained, and heavily supported right through to the successful retirement of the legacy system.
As an independent contractor, you will have the autonomy to determine the best approach and sequencing to achieve the following outcomes:
- Impact & Capacity: Map out exactly how the change impacts different business areas. You'll evaluate operational capacity, productivity hits, and backfill requirements across both the training and dual-running phases.
- Targeted Training: Build out tailored learning paths specifically for originators, underwriters, processors, and support teams. You will ensure the training lands effectively and aligns perfectly with go-live milestones.
- Dual-Run Mastery: Design the interim Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). We need clear rules of engagement for system-of-record, reconciliations, exception handling, and the ultimate legacy exit criteria.
- Advocacy & Comms: Stand up a strong network of change champions. You will identify resistance early, intervene smartly, and keep communications clear, timely, and relevant to each stakeholder group.
- The Broker Experience: You will champion the external broker journey, coordinating UX validation and shaping a flawless rollout, onboarding, and communications strategy for the intermediary market.
- Hypercare & Handover: Produce the evidence-based assessments needed for go/no-go decisions, orchestrate the hypercare model post-launch, and cleanly transition all outstanding change activities into Business As Usual (BAU).
To explore this contract further, please submit your CV to the team at Hurren & Hope. Candidates able to display experience of projects highlighting specific track record in dual-run technology transitions and mortgage origination platforms will be favoured.
