The role of the SQL Data Analyst involves analysing, reconciling and validating structured SAP‑sourced data across multiple enterprise systems. The SQL Data Analyst supports business‑as‑usual data operations by identifying data quality issues, producing comparison and exception reports, and ensuring data flows between SAP, legacy platforms and Salesforce do not result in downstream impacts. This role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity across critical business processes and works closely with technical and business stakeholders to support operational stability.
Your Role: A Data Partner Supporting Business Continuity
As a member of our Belfast‑based team, you will support ongoing operational data activities and act as a trusted partner to stakeholders by delivering high‑quality data analysis and insight. You will contribute to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of enterprise data through hands‑on SQL analysis and reporting. Responsibilities may include:
- Data Analysis & Reconciliation: You will write and maintain complex SQL queries to analyse, compare and reconcile large volumes of structured SAP‑sourced data across legacy systems and Salesforce platforms.
- Data Quality & Validation: You will perform ongoing data validation checks, identify discrepancies and anomalies, and support investigation of data quality issues impacting business operations.
- Reporting & Insights: You will build and maintain comparison, reconciliation and exception reports to highlight data issues and trends, enabling timely remediation and decision‑making.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: You will work with technical and business stakeholders to understand data flows, reporting requirements and operational priorities, communicating findings clearly and effectively.
- BAU Support: You will support BAU data processes, proactively monitoring data integrity and responding to data‑related incidents or queries as they arise.
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement: You will document data issues, analysis outcomes and recommended actions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data checks, queries and reporting processes.
- All‑Around Performance: You will perform high‑quality critical activities supporting teams across various service areas and participate in daily activities, meetings and reviews, engaging with Huron peers through various communication channels.
The Profile We’re Looking For: A Detail‑Oriented Data Analyst
We are looking for candidates who combine strong SQL capability with a data‑quality and analysis mindset. Required background includes:
- Proven experience in a SQL‑focused data analysis, reporting or reconciliation role within an enterprise environment.
- Strong hands‑on SQL skills, including writing complex queries involving joins, aggregations and comparisons across large datasets.
- Experience working with structured transactional data and performing data reconciliation, validation or exception analysis.
- Experience working in environments with both legacy and modern systems.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and a methodical approach to identifying and investigating data issues.
- Ability to communicate data findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with SAP‑sourced data (e.g. SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW or reporting layers) preferred.
- Familiarity with data warehousing platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake) preferred.
