The Compensation Associate works collaboratively amongst the compensation team to support multiple aspects of compensation, including compensation reporting and survey management. The compensation function at Huron is viewed by the executive team as key to the success of the business. This role requires a high level of customer service, integrity, accuracy, ethical standards, and interest in working in a dynamic and collaborative team environment while also exercising a level of autonomy to meet the job requirements.

Your Role:

  • Compensation Survey Management: You will coordinate, manage, and participate in compensation surveys to gather market data and benchmark Huron’s compensation practices against industry standards. You will support accurate job matching and partner closely with Compensation Managers, HR Business Partners, business leaders, and survey providers to ensure meaningful and reliable outcomes.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: You will analyse compensation data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing clear and actionable insights to support decision-making. You will collaborate with HR Operations and HR Business Partners to ensure data integrity and develop dashboards and reports to support both HR teams and business leaders.
  • Year-End Compensation Support: You will support Compensation Managers and HR Business Partners during the year‑end compensation planning cycle. This includes gathering data to support bonus and salary planning models, responding to queries from the business related to compensation processes and Workday, auditing planning data to identify outliers or budget issues, and preparing summary materials as required.
  • Workday & Data Integrity: You will conduct audits of compensation data within Workday to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved plans and policies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Service Delivery: You will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, delivering a high level of customer service, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards, and supporting clear, consistent communication around compensation processes and timelines.
  • Autonomy & Decision-Making: You will manage assigned activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, exercise sound judgement, and balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • Personal, Team & Business Development: You will actively engage in learning and development opportunities, complete required training, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the compensation and broader HR teams.

The Profile We’re Looking For:

  • A Compensation Professional: We are seeking candidates who combine strong analytical capability with a collaborative, service‑oriented mindset. While requirements may vary slightly by role, successful candidates typically bring:
  • 2–3 years of experience in compensation or total rewards roles, ideally within a complex, fast‑paced organization.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience analysing compensation data and preparing insightful reports or dashboards is essential.
  • Exposure to compensation design, administration, and benchmarking, with an understanding of accounting and finance implications of compensation programs.
  • Experience using Workday compensation modules is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confidence working with stakeholders at different levels, and the ability to explain compensation concepts clearly and professionally.
  • High attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritise effectively, strong integrity, and a client‑service, consultative mindset.
