A Health Care Assistant role at Staunton Group Practice in London. The position requires UK residency with right to work, a Phlebotomy Certificate, and availability to work on Fridays. Full‑time (40 hours per week) under a permanent contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside GPs, nurses and the practice team to deliver patient care.
- Assist with administrative duties and facilitate smooth running of the practice.
- Perform phlebotomy duties and manage anticoagulation clinic, checking INR levels for warfarin patients.
- Conduct new patient health checks, registrations, and blood pressure checks.
- Run smoking cessation and spirometry clinics as required.
- Provide minor dressing treatment and chaperone when needed.
- Maintain supplies, stock rooms, and equipment calibration; restock consulting rooms daily; perform stocktaking for monthly PPA claims.
- Check and record fridge temperatures daily; manage patient information area and Carers Register.
- Assist with health promotion activities and annual flu campaign.
- Support Chronic Disease Management Teams and attend primary health care meetings.
- Take minutes of MDT meetings and cover reception during staff meetings.
- Adhere to Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Health care qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards.
- Care Certificate.
- Wound care management.
- Knowledge of Adastra I.T system and e‑Triage.
- Desirable: Experience with diabetic care plan (YOC 1) and part 1 (CVD) is preferred.
