A Receptionist/Admin role at Hurley Group for Allerton Road Medical Centre in London. Work pattern: 8 hours a day, 35 hours per week. Permanent, part-time contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Open and close premises punctually.
  • Check-in patients, direct them appropriately, and handle enquiries courteously and efficiently.
  • Take accurate messages and pass them to relevant staff.
  • Maintain and update the appointment book; operate the scheduled appointment system.
  • Arrange repeat prescriptions, collect and store specimens, and prepare specimen reports.
  • Deal with telephone queries and provide cover for reception and admin staff as required.
  • Maintain office supplies, manage non-routine appointments, and handle mail distribution.
  • Support clinical team by preparing referral letters, recording data, and liaising with external agencies.
  • Contribute to audits, projects, and general administrative duties to support smooth practice running.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • GCSE or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent).
  • Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organisational ability, and customer-service orientation.
  • Experience in reception/admin role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team; initiative and attention to detail.
  • Basic budgeting/stock management awareness.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding policies (basic understanding required).
