EXPORT OPERATOR

About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Export Operator to join our LCL Operations team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating container loadings for weekly export sailings across assigned destinations while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, carrier schedules and customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vessel bookings with shipping lines for assigned destinations at least three weeks in advance.
  • Submit hazardous cargo declarations to carriers and obtain acceptance before load planning.
  • Create load plans and load lists for designated depots whilst ensuring cargo compatibility and compliance.
  • Assist customers and CFS facilities with cargo discrepancies, damages and shipment queries.
  • Manage and resolve carrier invoice queries to support timely payment processing.
  • Provide shipment updates and respond to customer enquiries professionally.
  • Build and maintain vessel schedules including depot cut-off dates.
  • Learn and adhere to destination-specific cargo requirements and regulations.
  • Review final load lists and submit completed information to the Documentation team for pre-alert processing.
  • Complete export customs declarations through CDS.
  • Associate UCRs with MUCRs in CDS and submit information to carriers.
  • Resolve customs queries, including Route 1 documentary checks, to avoid shipment delays.
  • Work closely with Bookings, Sales, Documentation and Warehouse teams.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years experience within logistics, freight forwarding or export operations.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Competent IT skills and experience using logistics systems.
