Counterbalance Forklift Truck Driver

Job Description Key Responsibilities Safely load and unload vehicles within agreed timeframes to support efficient warehouse operations.

Receive inbound pallets and accurately book them into the Warehouse Management System (Book Export).

Weigh incoming pallets and accurately record weights within the Warehouse Management System.

Inspect incoming goods for visible damage and report any shortages, damage or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Allocate and store pallets in the correct warehouse locations using the warehouse location system.

Ensure all stock is stored safely, securely and in accordance with company procedures.

Pick, move and relocate pallets using a counterbalance forklift truck as required.

Scan and verify pallets prior to dispatch to maintain full stock traceability and inventory accuracy.

Load outbound vehicles in accordance with loading plans, customer requirements and safe loading practices.

Carry out daily pre-use checks on the forklift truck and report any defects or maintenance issues immediately.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring warehouse areas are clean, tidy and free from hazards.

Comply with all Company Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work at all times.

Operate forklift trucks and warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with current legislation and company training.

Work effectively with warehouse colleagues, supervisors and other departments to achieve operational and customer service targets.

Assist with stock counts and inventory checks as required.

Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role, as directed by management.

Person Specification The successful candidate will: Hold a valid and in-date Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT or equivalent).

Have previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a busy warehouse environment.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety.

Be able to work accurately with good attention to detail.

Possess good communication and teamwork skills.

Be reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure to meet operational deadlines.

Have a basic understanding of Warehouse Management Systems and handheld scanning equipment (desirable).
