Our client, a well established global logistics organisation, is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their growing team based in Chelmsford. Working from a modern open plan office, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of an international business with a strong reputation within the logistics sector.
The Role
As an Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of freight forwarding operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating daily operational activities
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal departments
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships
- Monitoring shipments and resolving operational issues
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Producing operational reports and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting projects and ensuring operational objectives are achieved
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain operations
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- A highly organised approach with strong attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively within a fast paced environment
- Good commercial awareness and confidence when dealing with customers
- Strong information technology skills and the ability to manage operational systems efficiently
- Experience of freight consolidations would be highly advantageous
- Exposure to ocean freight operations would be beneficial
