As a Harvest Team Leader, you'll lead and support a dedicated team responsible for harvesting premium salmon while ensuring the highest standards of fish welfare, safety, quality and operational efficiency.
With a 7 days on, 7 days off roster and accommodation provided while on shift, this is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on leadership with a great work-life balance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Harvest Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the harvest team to deliver safe, efficient and humane harvesting operations in line with company standards and business objectives.
You will play a key role in supporting your team, coordinating resources, and ensuring the successful completion of nightly harvest activities.
Your responsibilities will include
- Planning, coordinating and organising people, equipment and resources to meet harvest targets.
- Supporting, coaching and developing team members to build capability and foster a positive team culture.
- Monitoring harvest activities to optimise product quality for processing and consumers.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and operating to required standards.
- Maintaining compliance with safety, biosecurity, hygiene and environmental requirements.
- Working collaboratively with farm and operational teams to achieve business objectives.
- Completing operational reporting and record keeping as required.
- This role operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, with shifts including:
β’ Friday
- daytime hours
- Farm maintenance and clean-up activities.
β’ Saturday
- daytime hours
- Operational support across the farm and on-water activities.
β’ Sunday to Thursday
- night time hours
- Nightly harvest operations.
Accommodation is provided while on roster, allowing you to focus on the job and enjoy a unique experience working in Tasmania's aquaculture industry.
ABOUT YOU
You are a capable leader who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and can motivate a team to consistently deliver high standards of safety, fish welfare and operational performance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in aquaculture, agriculture, marine operations or a similar industry.
- Experience working in a marine environment or a Certificate III in Aquaculture (desirable).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to plan work, coordinate resources and achieve operational targets.
- A commitment to safety, fish welfare and continuous improvement.
- The ability to hold yourself and others accountable through positive leadership and clear expectations.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Experience with chemical handling, storage and record keeping.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- A current Australian Driver Licence.
- A current Forklift Licence.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in a demanding outdoor environment.
