Overview
As a Senior Ecotoxicologist, you will apply expert ecotoxicology, exposure science and regulatory insight to support product development and global registrations. You will drive environmental risk assessment, help ensure regulatory compliance, and lead technical discussions with regulators. You’ll manage dossier preparation and represent Huntsman in industry forums, shaping how we address environmental safety across markets. This role offers global scope, cross-functional collaboration, and meaningful impact on product safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide environmental hazard and risk assessment expertise across product development stages
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements (REACH, TSCA, Canada, Korea, China) in collaboration with regulatory specialists
- Monitor external ecotoxicology and environmental fate studies and select appropriate lab approaches
- Utilize in silico tools (QSAR, read-across) for screening, prioritization and regulatory data submission
- Prepare and support IUCLID and other dossier submissions including read-across for environmental data
- Act as technical lead for ecotoxicology-related issue management and advocacy with regulatory bodies
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in ecotoxicology, environmental fate and risk assessment
- Represent Huntsman in industry consortia and trade associations, sharing insights with internal stakeholders
Key requirements
- Advanced degree (Master or PhD) with 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Extensive regulatory ecotoxicology experience and defense of self-classification and labelling under GHS/CLP
- Knowledge of ecotoxicology and environmental fate methods and in silico tools (QSAR, read-across)
- Experience with EU REACH, TSCA and Canada chemical registrations
- Practical experience with OECD QSAR Toolbox, IUCLID, CHESAR and easyTRA
- Experience with consortia and trade association work
- Fluency in English and ability to work in a multicultural, hybrid environment
