Huntsman is looking for a Production Technologist to join our dynamic team in Duxford. This pivotal role will act as a key link between the Production Management Team and other departments, focusing on enhancing process safety, driving productivity improvements, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant. We are hiring for this position due to our continued focus on operational excellence and efficiency gains within the production environment. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, proactive problem-solvers with strong technical skills and a passion for continuous improvement within chemical or process engineering contexts.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Production Technologist, you will be responsible for:
Acting as a central liaison between production teams and technical departments to improve process safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Driving LEAN and Six Sigma projects, supporting both large (CAPEX) and small-scale initiatives.
Implementing and maintaining high safety standards, ensuring compliance with all EHS protocols.
Providing technical training and support to operators, helping them understand and adhere to safety and operational standards.
Working with the Engineering Department to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal functioning of production processes.
Leading investigations and CAPA initiatives for safety and quality.
Reviewing Process Instructions, SOPs, and Work Instructions from a technical perspective, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Experience and Competencies:
What we are looking for:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or aerospace sectors.
Strong background in process safety and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN and Six Sigma.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
Proven skills in problem-solving, prioritizing tasks, and navigating a fast-paced production setting.
Experience in a regulated production environment.
Excellent communication and analytical skills, capable of leading investigations and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities in a busy production atmosphere.
